Ad Sales Associate, CTV Video Advertising
Salem News Channel, part of the Salem Media Group, is looking for a full-time advertising sales associate / account executive. Salem News Channel (SNC) launched three years ago and is carried on all major FAST platforms, our O&O apps/sites, and 55 OTA stations in 50 U.S. markets. Our talent includes Charlie Kirk, Larry Elder, Lara Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson, Hugh Hewitt and other respected conservative media personalities.
Experience directly selling into the OTT/CTV media landscape is strongly preferred; however, any video ad sales experience will be considered. We are flexible as to location, but the expectation is that candidates are currently working with major media buyers, which generally means candidates are currently based in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, etc. We have offices in all major markets and are open to a hybrid work schedule. Periodic travel for client and team meetings may be required.
Responsibilities
You will play a key role in driving revenue and building client relationships. Key responsibilities include:
• Building, developing, and managing a client portfolio.
• Generating leads, conducting outreach, and engaging potential clients.
• Presenting our offerings/services to clients and clearly articulating their value to close sales.
• Collaborating with internal departments, including Marketing and Ad-Ops, to ensure client satisfaction and seamless integration of client feedback.
• Keeping accurate and detailed records of sales activities, pipelines, and performance metrics in our CRM system, ensuring up-to-date and accessible information.
• Staying informed on industry trends, product updates, and competitor activities to effectively position Salem news Channel in the market and maintain a competitive edge.
Success Criteria
To be successful in this role, we expect you to:
• Meet or exceed a yearly sales quota, demonstrating the ability to drive consistent revenue growth.
• Show an increase in client portfolio size and retention rates, reflecting the ability to maintain and nurture long-term client relationships.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, earning positive client feedback and reinforcing the company’s reputation.
• Actively contribute to team objectives and maintain accurate CRM records to ensure accessible and reliable information across departments.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of proven experience in an ad sales organization primarily focused on OTT/CTV/FAST media
• Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• A certain level of existing buyer contacts and the skill set to expand that list
• Strong self-motivation and goal-oriented mindset, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability to adjust sales tactics based on client feedback and evolving media market demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge and understanding of the programmatic marketplace; experience and contacts in the direct sales marketplace
• Experience in the News space is preferred
• Ability to articulate viewership trends away from most “legacy news” channels and what that means for Salem News Channel
• Desire to take on more than they are doing today……. whether that’s additional geographic territory or vertical/holding company responsibilities will depend on the candidate
• Awareness of key figures in today’s conservative media landscape
